1.  Fill up the gas tank about 90% to avoid condensation inside the tank.

2.  Flush out the engine.   Purchase an engine flushing kit from your local store.

3.  Change the oil and replace the fuel filter.

4.  Clean your boat inside and out.    It would also be a good time to put on a coat of wax.

5.  Check the boat for any needed repairs.    

      *engine and fuel lines for any broken seals

      *engine belts for any cracks

      *electrical system for exposed wires or corrosion

      *propellers for dents or cracks

      *test the battery and make sure it is fully charged

6.   Disconnect the battery.

7.  Put on a boat cover to protect the inside and to keep it clean.

8.  Find a storage unit near you.
